...People didn't know existed.
I like 'taking it all in'. I can come into a situation, spend a few days/weeks and just observe. My brain working overtime to see the 'issue' or potential problem. Sometimes I can get it in one try, whatever that fix is, and sometimes it might take a few tries depending on how well I 'know' the product/position/workings of something. But in the end? I'll see what's NOT working and come up with a more productive fix for it saving money and time.
In my short tenure on a local taco food truck, I developed a food waste control system that all the trucks used within months of coming on board. During training with them, I noticed severe food waste. So after spending a few weeks making notes and doing some calculations on use per client, I started a food tracking spreadsheet. Within a few months I had it dialed in and each truck was given a clipboard: Based on expected turnout, typical use per client and space on the trucks, I fine tuned a setup to all but alleviate food waste, saving them thousands over the food truck season. This is still in place today, almost 10 years later!
Working for a local Hyundai dealer as a sales manager, I developed pretty intensive excel sheet to track new and pre owned sales, gross profit, sales advisors attached to those sales and a break down of full costs. All calculated to work together by just inputting some basic information. This system is being used at Crown Acura. I found it in my files on day and passed it along for the GM here and he loves it!
